Foundation Row: chain 30

Row 1: slip 1 chain in the foundation row *work a single crochet and chain 1* repeat from* to* around row. Work on both sides of the foundation chain and join with a slip stitch.

Row 2: chain 3 then * work a double crochet into the chain stitch of the previous row* repeat from* to* around row and join with a slip stitch.

Repeat row 2 for pattern

Sample shown has 14 rows.

Row 15 -20: single crochet around row and join with a slip stitch

Row 21: single crochet 10 stitches. Chain 25 or desired length of handle, and repeat join with a slip stitch

Row 22: single crochet around row using the chains for single crochet and join with a slip stitch.

Weave in all tails in three different directions to ensure that the ends of the project don't come loose through use.
