This doily was named after the grandlady who taught many people to love crochet. She has been gone for many years but her spirit and laughter remain and continue to inspire.

Hook size: 2 mm Weight: 1 cotton
Foundation Row: chain 4 Join with a slip stitch
Row 1: chain 3(This counts as first double crochet) double crochet into centre of the foundation row 19 times slip stitch to join(20)
Row 2: work a single crochet into each double crochet of the previous row slip stitch to join
Row 3: slip stitch to the next single crochet then* yarn over the hook into the stitch yarn over draw through the 2 loops on the hook. In the same stitch, repeat the preceding step twice.

Yarn over, and draw the yarn through all four loops on the hook* repeat from *to *across row. Slip stitch to join (20)
Row 4: slip stitch to the next puff stitch and *yarn over hook insert the hook into the stitch yarn over draw the yarn through two loops on the hook repeat the preceding step four times.

Yarn over and draw the yarn through all six loops on hook. Chain 2 then yarn over hook insert the hook into the stitch yarn over draw the yarn through two loops on the hook. Repeat the preceding step four times. Yarn over and draw the yarn through all six loops on hook. Skip over next puff stitch * repeat from* to *across row. Slip stitch to join.

Row 5: work one double crochet Chain one one double crochet into the same space in each chain two space* repeat from *to* across row. Slip stitch to join.

Row 6: slip stitch to chain 1 space and * yarn over hook insert the hook into the stitch yarn over draw the yarn through the stitch yarn over draw the yarn through two loops on the hook repeat from *to *across row. Slip stitch to join (40)
Row 7-8 * work one double crochet Chain one one double crochet into the same space in each chain two space repeat from *to *across row. Slip stitch to join.

Row 9: *Work two double crochet Chain two two double crochet into v stitch Chain one* repeat from* to *across
row. Slip stitch to join.

Row 10* work two double crochet two single crochet two double crochet into each v stitch same space chain 2* repeat from* to* across row Slip stitch to join.

Row 11 - 15: * work two double crochet two single two double crochet into each shell stitch chain two * repeat from* to* across row. Slip stitch to join

Row 16:* into the next shell stitch yarn over hook, insert the hook into the stitch yarn over draw the yarn through the stitch yarn over draw the yarn through two loops on the hook repeat the preceding step four times. Yarn over and draw the yarn through all six loops on the hook Chain three yarn over hook insert the hook into the stitch yarn over draw the yarn through the stitch yarn over draw the yarn through two loops on the hook repeat the preceding step four times. Yarn over and draw the yarn through all six loops on the hook.

Chain three * repeat from *to *across row. Slip stitch to join. Weave in ends.
