Foundation Row: chain 11

Row 1: in 2nd chain from hook yarn over and draw through chain, * insert hook into next chain and yarn over, draw yarn through the chain* repeat from * to* across row keeping all the loops on the hook. Insert hook in both vertical strands at the edge of work in last stitch, yarn over and draw through both strands, then yarn over and draw the yarn through 1 loop on hook, * yarn over draw through 2 loops on the hook * repeat from * to* across until 1 loop remains on hook.

Row 2: insert hook into 2nd vertical stitch from hook yarn over and draw through stitch, * insert hook in next vertical stitch yarn over draw through stitch * repeat from * to * across to the last stitch, keeping all loops on hook, insert hook in both vertical strands at edge of work in last stitch, yarn over, draw through both strands. Then yarn over and draw through 1 loop on hook* yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook* repeat from* to* across until 1 loop remains on hook.

Repeat row 2 for pattern.

To finish the project work last row as follows:
In the second vertical stitch from hook, yarn over, draw through stitch and through loop on hook* insert hook into next vertical stitch, yarn over. Draw through stitch and also through the loop on the hook* repeat from* to* across row.

Weave in all ends in at least three different directions to ensure that the ends of the project don't come loose through use.

Edging: 1 Row of single crochet around project with three single crochets in the corners of the bookmark.
