Circular knitting needles: 4.5 mm

Weight: 4

Cast on: 100 stitches

Work in a basic ribbing stitch(knit 1 purl 1) for 1.5 inches

Stitch to a straight knitting stitch and work for 8 inches.

Continue knitting next round marking each 10 stiches with a stitch marker.

Continue knitting to each marker and knit 2 together when reaching each marker. This will decrease the total stitch count each row.

Switch to double sided pointed needles when the number of stitches can't be easily worked with the circular needle and continue to decrease the number of stitches until there are none left on needles.

Weave in all ends in at least three different directions to ensure that the ends of the project don't come loose through use

About Janice

Hi, I’m Janice, the voice behind Smart-Knit-Crocheting. I love to knit and crochet and even more, I love teaching others what I know.

Though I learned to knit and crochet as a child, I didn’t get serious about these amazing hobbies until I retired. I’m a certified knit and crochet instructor through the Craft Yarn Council and am working on becoming a Master Hand Knitter through The Knitting Guild Association.

I’m currently living with my husband of over 50 years and our 7 Shih Tzu dogs.

I love hearing from you, so please drop me a line and let me know what you’re working on, whether you love knitting or crocheting more, and if you have any questions. Please visit my about me page for more information.
