Hook size 4.5 mm
Weight: 4 cotton yarn
Foundation Row: chain 26
Row 1: single crochet around both sides of the foundation chain join with a slip stitch
Row 2 - 8 single crochet around row and join with a slip stitch
Row 9: * chain 2, skip next two chain, double crochet in each of next 2 chain* repeat from* to* across. Fasten off, turn.
Row 10: insert hook in beginning double crochet, pull new color through stitch, chain 1, single crochet in each of first two double crochet, working over the next chain 2 space of Row 9 double crochet in each if the next 2 chain in foundation chain, * chain 2, skip next 2 double crochet, working over the next chain 2 space of Row 9, double crochet in each of next 2 chain in 2 spaces* rep from *to* across row and join with a slip stitch fasten off and turn
Row 11: insert hook in beginning single crochet, pull new color through stitch, chain 1, single crochet in each of first 2 single crochet, * Chain 2 space, double crochet in each of next 2 double crochet 2 rows below*, rep from* to* across to within last 4 stitches, chain 2, skip next 2 double crochet, single crochet in each of last 2 single crochet. Fasten off and turn.
Row 12: insert hook in beginning single crochet, pull new color through stitch, chain 1 single crochet In each of first 2 single crochets, working over the chain 2 space, double crochet in each of next 2 double crochets 2 rows below, * chain 2, skip next 2 double crochets, working over the next chain 2 space, double crochet in each of the next 2 double crochet 2 rows below,* repeat from * to * across to within last 2 single crochets, single crochet, single crochet in each of last 2 single crochet. Fasten off, turn.
Repeat rows 11 and 12 for pattern.
When the desired length of the purse has been achieved end pattern with row 12 then do the finishing row.
Finishing row:
Insert hook into first single crochet, pull new color through, chain 1, single crochet in each of first 4 stitches, * working over the next chain 2 space double crochet in each of next 2 double crochet* repeat from* to* across to within last 2 single crochet, single crochet in each of last 2 single crochet. Fasten off.
Top section of purse: single crochet 8 rows.
Weave in all ends in at least three different directions to ensure that the ends of the project don't come loose through use.
Sew lining and zipper in and attach handles.
